Gastointestinal System

             In Gastrointestinal System Physiology includes : Ingestion, Digestion , Absorption &                                                                                                         Excretion processes 

  •  Ingestion    : The food enter into mouth is chewed by teeth is the process of Ingestion
  •  Digestion   : In GI tract the food is digested by Chemical & Mechanical process & convert the                       large molecule into small molecules         
  •  Absorption : In this process the the small molecules of nutrients that are necessary for the body                       are absorbed '
  •  Excretion    : The waste product that are not digested & absorbed are excreted through the                                Anus

Gastrointestinal System


            Human Body is  a complex of many Systems like Nervous System, Cardio-Vascular System,               Skeleton System, Gastro-Intestinal System, Excretory System, Integumentary System, etc.

            It is also known as Digestive System.

            It starts from the Mouth & ends at Anus.

            In Gastro-intestinal Tract many organs are included that are following :
                           
                            Mouth
                            Oesophagus
                            Stomach
                            Small Intestine :  Duodenum, Jejunum & Ileum
                            Large Intestine : Cecum with Appendix, Ascending Colon, Transverse Colon, 
                                                        Descending Colon, Sigmoid Coln, Rectum & Anal Canal.
